The Damn Phones?
It’s rare that a proposed educational reform gets much buzz outside of parenting and teaching circles. Even if there is a wider public discussion over what needs to change in schools, it often only acts as a proxy war for some other cultural conflict like gender or critical race theory. The conversation can usually end there if this is the case. Do you think it’s safe for kids to learn about racism? Do you think it’s safe for your kids to learn about other sexualities and gender identities? If you answered yes or no to both of those, the discussion can’t really go anywhere. If you answered yes to only one, I’m very interested in your idiosyncratic beliefs.
